Accounting Assistant

Primary office location: Clinton

Candidates should have at least 5 years experience in an accounting capacity, or an Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting.

Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word and have a working understanding of how accounting software functions. Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.

Candidate will be responsible for a major part of the duties of the accounting department including accounts payable, receivables, payroll, invoicing, fleet management and operation of business software.  This position provides coverage for the Accounting Manager.

Candidates typical duties shall include but are not limited to:

Adhere to the accounting schedule and insure the various recurring accounting tasks are completed on time.

Make recommendations to the Accounting Manager for possible streamlining of accounting processes.

Input data into computer and run specialized reports.

Prepare accounts payable report for Accounting Manager with recommendation of invoices to be paid.

Audit employee time sheet and expense reports and correct appropriately.

Process Payroll and employee expense checks and all associated reporting.

Perform basic accounts receivables collection under the direction and supervision of the Accounting Manager.

Cross-trained to provide coverage of other positions to insure smooth daily business operation

Candidate has the responsibility to be aware and alert and to recommend improvements to Accounting Manager but may not unilaterally change any procedures.  Does not supervise any other personnel or any other activity.

Candidate will report directly to the Accounting Manager.  Works with Clients and Vendors when appropriate.  Has the obligation of direct interaction with all employees and Principals in respect to obtaining necessary information to complete tasks of position (Any issues in this area are to be reported to the Accounting Manager.)

Compensation dependent on experience and qualifications.
