The Mississippi Bureau of Buildings, Grounds and Real Property Management selected WGK, Inc. to create the new campus of the State Crime Lab from an undeveloped 43-acre site in Rankin County. WGK designed a totally self-sufficient site from the ground up that includes a 750 GPM water well; 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank and water distribution system; rehabilitated sewer system; electrical, gas and telecommunication infrastructure; the crime lab facility; and access roads and parking areas. All infrastructure upgrades were tied into other nearby state facilities to improve service. The $4 million project is under construction, with completion expected in 2013.
