Kiln Regional Water System Improvements I & II

WGK, Inc., was sought by A. Garner Russell and Assoc. to perform the final design water system improvements for the Hancock County Utility Authority as part of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality’s Gulf Region Water and Wastewater Plan, part of a series of disaster recovery emergency projects meant to resurrect essential water and sewer services destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The project created a centralized regional water supply for the 56.5 square-mile Kiln Water and Fire Protection District, improving the water supply, storage capacity and water pressure for an estimated 10,000 citizens by the year 2025, when average daily water demand is expected to reach 1 million gallons.

  • Construction of two 1,000 GPM Water Supply Wells
  • Construction of two 500,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank
  • Auxiliary Electric Generators
  • Chlorination Systems
  • SCADA controls
  • Water Transmission main, water meters, and flow control valves
  • Total Project I and Project II Costs: $4 million
